ERODING FREEDOMS

A John Seigenthaler Symposium, "Eroding Freedoms: Secrecy, Truth and Sources," was hosted by Middle Tennessee State Univ. April 4-6, 2006. The symposium featured panels on Lost Credibility: Reporters Who Fabricate Stories, Truth and Duty, Responsibility of Public Intellectuals, Confidential Sources, and a Re-visiting of Capote's In Cold Blood. The speakers included John Seigenthaler, Carl Bernstein, Bill Hilliard, Joanne Byrd, Jane Kirkley, Mary Mapes, Tom Cooper, Barbara Cochran, Lucy Dalglish and others.
